Since my brain is focused on getting ready for this year's RWA conference, I decided to write a blog about what I learned from my last conference experience that I'm applying to going to this years conference. Along with some helpful hints about how to get the most out of your conference experience.

For the last few months I've been having trouble writing. The words just haven't been coming as easily as they normally do. But I think I might have discovered a way to work through these issues.
Read my new blog on Sweet'n'Sexy Divas to see how settling my intention has helped me work through some of my writers block. http://sweetnsexydivas.blogspot.com/2018/06/setting-your-intention-amwriting.html Reviews are life blood to an author. Not only do they factor into rankings on sites like Amazon and Barnes and Noble, but they also keep us going. They keep us writing and improving. Even the not so nice ones can empower us to do better (sometimes just to spite the reviewer, I won't lie). But my books are a little lacking on reviews, so I'm running a contest to encourage some of those life blood enriching reviews out of the wood work.
Starting now through...whenever the reviews stop coming in...for every review you give, you can be entered to win a $25 gift certificate to amazon.com. Here's how it works- If you have read one of my books, go to any book reviewing site of your choice (bn.com, amazon.com, bookstrand.com, bookbub.com, goodreads.com, and any others you can think of) and write an honest review. (I'm only asking for honest reviews. If you didn't like a book that's fine. Let me know. That's the best way for me to improve. You never know, the reason you didn't like the book might be the reason another reader would love it.) The review must include a written review, but it can be as simple as 'liked the book', 'too much sex', 'flat characters', etc...Send me link to the review with your user name and you'll be entered to win the gift certificate. Simple as that. You can post the same review on as many sites as you'd like, each link will count as its own separate entry. Once I receive 25 links, I'll pull one winner from the list to receive the gift certificate. Once a link has been won it will be removed from eligibility but all the other links will remain eligible until the end of the contest. If the link is a verified purchase, I'll include something a little extra with the delivery. Never read one of my books before, but you want to participate? You still can. I currently have two books available for free. Read one of those, review it and you can enter to win. How do you send me the link- There are multiple ways you can send the link to me. You can email me at willa dot c dot Edwards at gmail dot com. You send me a message through the contact me link on my website. You can post your link to the facebook message on my page about this contest. Or you can comment on this blog post (only comments with email addresses included will be counted. I need to have a way to contact you for you to win). Comment or email me with any questions. Happy reviewing! I'm over at Sweet'n'Sexy Divas today talking about titles. How important they are, and how I decide what title to choose for my stories. Stop on by and let me know what you think. What titles do you find appealing? What titles draw you in and what ones steer you away?

http://sweetnsexydivas.blogspot.com/2018/03/new-stories-for-new-tech.html I'm over at sweet'n'sexy divas today talking about a subject I am really not good at, asking for help, and how it has changed my writing life over the last six months. There's also a big shout out to the RWA conference of this year and last year, which I went to and absolutely loved.
http://sweetnsexydivas.blogspot.com/2018/02/asking-for-help-willaedwards-rwa.html I hope you'll stop by and leave me a little note on how asking for help has changed your life. I know for me its brought a lot of hope back to my life, which I really needed in the last few years. I'm over at Sweet'n'Sexy Divas today talking about getting back into the swing of things after the overwhelming November and December I had. And talking about how I plan to keep it going.
http://sweetnsexydivas.blogspot.com/2018/01/getting-back-in-swing-newrelease.html Golden Forever is now available for download. This story holds a different place in my heart than the others in the series because it was the first story that I wrote for this series. I'm sure all these posts give readers an idea of how cluttered my mind is. That this story isn't the first one that I thought of yet it was somehow the first one I wrote shows just how all over the place I can be. I wish I could explain it, but I can't. And believe me I've tried. Even more ironic, this was the last book to receive a title. I know, its nuts. But what can you do. http://www.bookstrand.com/book/golden-forever In a lot of ways Riley was the easiest character to identify with in the series. She was the only one that found the ball to be a drag, that didn't want to dress up in fancy clothes or wear heels, which I can certainly identify with. Especially around the holidays, when I first starting writing the books, the time of year when you have to do a lot you might not want to, for the holiday season or the family. But probably the reason why this book was the first one written had nothing to do with Riley at all, but it was because of her guys. Of all the guys in the series, their motivation and devotion to Riley was easiest to understand. They loved Riley before the first word was written on the first page. They'd always loved Riley. She was the love of their lives since they were seven years old, they just didn't know it yet. Their friendship, their devotion to each other is so crystal clear I couldn't turn away from it. No matter which of the other ladies were talking to me. Those guys forced me to stay focused on them, to keep telling their story, demanding I give Riley the happily ever after she deserved. Which only made me love them more.
I've been planning this giveaway for a while but unfortunately life got in the way. But now with my edits and deadlines behind me and Christmas in front of me, now seems like the perfect time to announce this contest.
Today starts out the beginning of my 'Like Me' contest. All you have to do to be eligible is to like my facebook page. Simple as that. https://www.facebook.com/willaedwardsauthor/ The contest will run from now until I receive 250 likes on my face book page. Whether that takes three days or three months. Once my page hits 250 likes, I'll choose one liker at random to receive the prize. I will then contact the winner for shipping instructions. No personal information needs to be provide before that time. And what do you win--five paperback books. These books house a total of 13 stories, 8 from me and a few extras for fun. More than enough reading to keep you happy for a few weeks (at least I hope). If you've already liked my page there's nothing else you need to do. You're already in the running to win. But if you want to tell your friends, I wouldn't have a problem with that. You can log in and add your name to the rafflecopter, but remember to like my facebook page as well. That's where I'll be pulling the winner from. |
