Wandering Off the Path Soundtrack
Music is extremely important to me during the writing process. It helps me get into the feeling and emotion behind my characters. It doesn’t matter if its Historical, Futuristic, Vampire Ménage or Quiet Contemporary, the emotions are eternal. Others have experienced them before, other writers put in their books and song writers put in their songs. The fear, elation, excitement, lust, we all feel when we fall in love were the same at the beginning of time and will be the same as long as humans exist. That’s why I never have a problem finding a song with a similar conflict to that within my work.
Any song listed as part of this soundtrack reminded me in some way of the story, conflict or characters during the writing of this work. Sometimes it’s a simple as a line, the chorus or the entire theme of the song. Some songs are popular while I was writing the novel and therefore every time I heard them they reminded me of the work, and some I sought out to ground me in the story, but each one shows some aspect of the story that pushed me to keep going.
Little Red Riding Hood - Sam the Sham and the Pharohs (I prefer the Bowling for Soup Version)
She Wolf - Shakira
Here I Go Again - Whitesnake
My Moon My Man - Fiest
Animal - Neon Trees
Abigail - Arkells
I'm Alive - Metric
Hungry Like a Wolf - Duran Duran
